The following groups are eligible for a government funded vaccine: 

​

• Pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy).

• Individuals aged 6 months and older with high-risk medical conditions, including:

  • Cardiac disease (e.g., congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease).

  • Chronic respiratory conditions (e.g., severe asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

  • Immunocompromising conditions (e.g., HIV, malignancy, solid organ transplant).

  • Haematological disorders.

• Children aged 6 months to less than 5 years.

• People aged 65 years and over (eligible for specialized enhanced vaccines).

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and older.

If you do not meet the requirements for a government funded vaccine you will be able to get a private flu vaccine for $25.
